Set this in your IRC Program,

in Chatzilla: click on the channellink on the mainpage and it connect to the Channel, You can edit network-specific stuff in Chatzilla->Preferences->irc.quakenet.org.

in XChat: XChat-> Network/Serverlist and search for Quakenet and klick on "Connect". You can also set auto joining to Channels there.

Q-Bot (on quakenet)

First of all: Your Qname is not your Nickname! You can be authed as LALALALA and you can have the nickname LALELU at the same time. Your qname will be the same as your nickname on register

Get a Q account (not needed to chat):

First connect to quakenet and then write this into the input field:

/msg Q HELLO your@email.tld your@email.tld

Then you will get an Email from quakenet, follow the insructions there and you can set your Password.

For Auth with Q when you have your account details (password, username) you can use this:

/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH username password

Authcheck:

/msg Q whoami

Youre authed when you see "-Q(TheQBot@CServe.quakenet.org)- -Information for user NICKNAME (using account AUTHNAME) "

Hide your Hostname (ip)
You need a Q account for this and you have to be authed!

/MODE +x YOURNICKNAME

(NOT the Q account name)

Start ChatZilla without Firefox:

Just make a Starter with:

firefox -chat

thats it!  

Useful IRC commands

/join #channelname join the channel "channelname"

/whois nickname get the userinfo of "nickname"

/nick yournickname change your nickname to "yournickname"

/away

/back

/query nickname opens a personal chat window to "nickname"
