   This is the release candidate for the 0.8.5 patch.


- OpenArena Expanded patch changes are committed to the main VMs now
   so whatever is fixed in that, is in this.
- Udi's 2D improvement package 2.0 is now part of the game.
- The 0.9.0 blue menu scheme gets an early release in this one.
- Penguin sound fixed
- New maps included:
   -FFA-
   blitzkrieg3
   oa_koth2
   oa_minia (new version)
   -CTF-
   hydronex2
   am_underworks
   oa_reptctf11
   ps9ctf
   ps37ctf2
   ctf_compromise (new version)

- THIS IS A PATCH to 0.8.1!  This is not a major release.
     The intent of this patch is to address issues, the new content is a bonus.

- I'm not even sure vorbis support is enabled in the engine. Untested.
- oa_ded.exe has q3 icon (MUST REPLACE)
- the other two oa binaries, also have old icons
- leilol is an incompetent leader

Well, let's sit and wait to figure out on which version the leauge will be.

hmm i have test it, and could find no errors but the best thing is, u make a new oa folder next to the original and copy the 081 baseoa content into the o85 baseoa,

so now you can run 081 and 085 parallel
(but remember everytime save your q3config.cfg!!)

Well I have tested it, like the dual map option that Obama described. Works without problems so far, if you log in a 0.81 server with the 0.85 client, the game will automaticly run in the old 0.81 modus. So, if I'm correct there is no reason not to install, its backwards compatible.
Ok, I know it's not an official release, but it looks very usable, even on 0.81 servers. Or do I overlook something?

Well I'm glad the developers finally added compatibility.  I remember when the community was playing on like 3 different versions that were incompatible with eachother!  I'm still not back to playing regularly, but I'll get to it!  As soon as the new apartment is finally finished.........

You dont need to create new folder for it. Just add new files in 0.8.1 folder, it using same protocol.

Wenn die pk3's (also die vm's ) bestimmte neue funktionen von den binarys brauchen (openarena.exe/.i386) dann wird es inkompatibilitäten geben weil man die binarys nicht einfach über autodownload bekommen kann und nicht wärend der laufzeit von OA von altem binary zu neuem springen kann..
