As perry mentioned here http://www.evilarena.de/development/wip/ , it is a nice idea to outsorce some texture problems i cant solve yet. So if anyone has a good idea how to create those textures, please help me !

I`ve tried several things like motion blurred fog/plasma/clouds and as well exotic stuff like blinds->noise->pick->gaussian blur-> motion blur   but i couldnt create a effect for the trim like the original q3 texture. The stones are already ready, so i just need a idea for the trim. PS: in Speakers v5 pack this texture looks really nice.

I tried this : http://img97.imageshack.us/i/blocks18cgeom.jpg/  but i couldnt finish it, and i think the radius is too big as well as the ring is too expanded. If someone would make for this a nice texture, the frame could be used on several other textures (therefore it should look good!)

I've made a fast remake of the Q3Min texture, the hilight is too wide, but except that it's not so bad. The XCF file with a short readme how I did it: http://udionline.hu/fajlok/killblock_i2-filter.zip The basic idea is to make a small black and white noise, than separate the two values of the gaussian blur and make the stripes. After that add another noisy layer and some masking. But I think the Q3Min style can be made with drawing brushes. The Q3 style probably needs the technique I used, but probably more narrow and black stripes instead of white. And a rusty texture can be added to the bottom, make it fade in with a layer mask and distort it by hand (also used in my fast remake). The texture is a really fast made one, even the brick texture may be wrong, but maybe it's a good start.

As for the blocks18cgeom, I would use Inkscape to make the basic shapes, then use GIMP for adding textures lights, dirt etc. I think 3 circles will be enough, the area between the two outer circles can be covered with one of the metaltech textures.
