game statistics

After several weeks of procrastination and doing nothing for the statistics, i wrote some new scripts in the last days. Now you can see single game statistics of the last two days:

But its still a long way to a complete statistic page, up to now its only black letters on white background.

yes, well... the html output is quite quick and dirty. My main focus layed until now on saving the games into the data bank and to reproduce the old games. After i have written the parts for the league i will focus on supporting other browsers than ff/IE and mobilphones as well, promissed :-)

Side works up to now at ff/IE with higher resolution >= 1024x768 (with some minor bugs).

Update: Site works now properly with all major browers (IE, ff, opera, chrome) on almost any resolution.

Works fine on phone now :) I'll check on my comp too in a minute.

edit: Took a bit longer than planned but I checked on my pc now too :P I like the site, it's a little bit colorless but how it looks is the least important :P
One thing, maybe make a link to the webchat in that announcement on the left. People less familiar with irc won't know how to join the chat this way.

Btw, i got a question, not sure if it's the right topic to ask but at least i try :P

So, it's about my account there, i registered on this website with my laptop ( wich i use to play when i'm not home ), but when i'm home i quite prefer playing on a bigger and nicer computer i know better :D
And i was wondering if the stats and such were counting with the IP or with the name?? ???
So, if i should create another account on the other computer, or if i just need to set the same name? :P

You dont have to register twice, the ingame statistics are tracked until now only by the playernames. Though i can merge several playernames for registered users , for example: Whether i play with Evil|**HD or BazookaJo, both stats are counted to my users statistics **HD. Since this merging is done manual, i have to know your different playernames. Therefor i included the row "known ingame names" in the personal settings of your account.

This statistic tracker is quite suboptimal, since maintaining costs some time and it is not safe regarding "name stealing". Openarena is a account-less anonymous game and there is no other way to realise a statistic tracker. However, one of the first things we will include as soon as AS is standalone is some kind of unqiue identification ID like ql has (allthough playing offline still should be possible). This identification ID is engine part, so we cant include it into a mod.

So, you see, no need for a new account on the webpage.

We have resetted the statistics today. Two reasons for it:

- the statistics weren't consistend, since the new rewards rocketrail, full shotgun and item denied were implemented during the last weeks.

- there was a bug, which saved in the last days (14.-19. Dec) several games thousends of times again and again into the db ( ~ 20 k 'faked' game data)

The statistic tracker is a 'work in progress', so we will have to reset it in the future again. This will happen after the next insertion of new rewards, but it will take some time (several weeks or even months i guess).

suggestion:

1. you rank all players by win/loss - take the rank
2. you rank all players by dmg done /taken - take the rank
3. you rank all players by acc - take the rank
4. you rank all players by kill/death ratio - take the rank
5. you add the 4 ranks and divide them by 4
6. = SUPERRANK !


-- you can even add ranks by every single weapon to make it more precise (Tiny's idea)
-- you can even add ranks by medals (also Tiny's idea)

pro: less file-zombies (karteileichen)
cons: maybe some ppl share the same rank
