What kind of maps will be present in map pool? Small and tricky ones or wide rail-camping dm17-like ones?

yes, the ladders will be for everyone. Or to be more precise: for everyone with an account on http://aftershock-fps.de

Whereas most OA leagues were/are forum based only, i want to create a referee interface on that webpage. Stuff like creating teams, joining ladders, challenging opponents etc. Referees can ref the match in the interface, including automatic rankings etc. As the next update of the mod will have serverside multiview demos, we don't need refs anymore live on the server.

Just check your profile -> my leagues to see the scripting progress. Still a lot of work to do. Ladders will be endless ladders using a elo ranking system.

I've created a "test ladder" and need some test teams in the next week(s), anyone interested ?

Rules:

  • A team consists of two players
  • All players need an account and have to set the ingame auth via seta aftershock_login and seta aftershock_password
  • the games will be played on RN|Aftershock2  server (pw: asleague)
  • The matches will be played "Best-of-three", in which the third game will be played on q3dm6tmp (in the finished script the last map will be random generated from the map pool).

Mappool is:

  • q3dm6tmp
  • pro-dcmap7
  • rota3dm2
  • tscabdm3
  • zl3tourney1

If you are interested, write me (on AS webpage) a PM and i'll give you the ladder password.

You can already start playing games against each other, please PM me after each match the game IDs of the 2 (or 3) games.

Okay ladies and gentleman, as far as i can see, the ladder scripts are working:

I have written the elo ranking script using the equations from Wikipedia:Elo rating system , using a modified k-value.

You can see a brief overview here.

Ladder rules are here.

Challenging works this way:

  • team leaders are able to challenge other teams using the "challenge" link from the ladder table. A new open challenge will be created, deadline is 2 weeks.
  • All teamleaders are able to change the challenge date, using the match manager of their team.
  • If both teams agrees to one date, the server password will be set automatic at the match's date. All teams will get the server password via private message.
  • Both teams have to write a match report (see match manager). The ladder referees can accept the match, if all requirements are fulfilled (correct maps were played, only authed team members in both teams, correct server settings).
  • If both teams agree to the referee's decision, the game will be evaluated and the challenge is closed.

Most parts are coded so far, so we can begin soon with a first ladder. Anyone got some ideas for maps ? Anyone wants to be ladder referee ?

We should tell to other Clans and Players that you can already start to register and participate in this 2vs2 CA Ladder. Maybe you should post a News on aftershock website or write something on other clans forums about it or at least give a link to THIS THREAT HERE for more information.

There are still some scripts i want to finish before making the whole ladder thing public. People can already register for the ladder, but they cannot challenge other teams at the moment (ladder inactiv). Furthermore the map pool isn't completed nor the ladder rules are.

Maybe a second ladder server is required, depending on the number of teams registering (atm: Only RN2 is a ladder server)... a GTV server would be nice as well. Heap set-up a GTV server with aftershock in the past, but then he was never seen again..

  • bugfixed some minor bugs
  • extended the scripts a bit (winning/ losing streak, max. 5 open challenges per team, ... ).
  • The server passwords will be resetted to "4train" 60 minutes after a scheduled ladder game, so people can train there. I hope 60 minutes is enough for a match (max. 3 games a 20 minutes, hmmm).
  • Ladder admins can arrange a forfeit win / forfeit loss for matches, in which one team break some rules (not showing up, not registered player in team et cetera)
  • Added rdogdm4 to the map pool

If all this works without bugs... we can begin soon.
