Hello everybody! As some of you might know, we are working on an OpenArena mod called AfterShock.
We will start a new ladder system soon and people can already begin to register for it. The first ladder will be played on CA (Elimination) 2vs2, see:

There are already 8 teams registered, ladder will be started at about 20 registered teams. The match modus will be "best of three" and the ranking calculation will be done using an elo system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system).
You can find the ladder rules (not 100 % done yet), a table of the elo values and the general rules about registering here:

Begin of the ladder will be in 1 - 2 weeks, as soon as all scripts are working without bugs (there is already a running test ladder open, testing all needed parts). If the elimination ladder works out well, we will start some other ladders as well (TDM, Duel, CTF).

Just a little update:

Meanwhile we started a duel ladder, you can find it here:

The ranking is based on an elo system (like chess). Whenever two logged in players meet on the server the game will count to the ranking. You will see a little notice from the server in thise case:     
Ranked match: xyz (points) vs. zyx (points)

Ladder servers are:

- AfterShock/Duel1-Ger
- AfterShock/Duel2-Ger
- AfterShock/Beginners

Due to the big gab between beginners and advanced players we have set up latter server for all the people not used to duel. If you never played duel you should try this server (it is worth a try!)
