We were talking about it on IRC today, there weren't many really bright ideas but well we need to choose something. This are about all serious names I heard:

Aerocide
Deathzone
Cone
Flashzone
Fragzone
Hyperion
Inception
Pollux
Spiracle
Texon

Most were already kinda rejected, but if I filter all rejected we keep nothing

If you have some good idea, just post here and I'll put it with the others ^^ (also if you really dislike one, just reply and when some ppl don't like it I get it off the list).

In a few days we'll put all names in one poll and put it in the vote board. For now it's just getting some ideas.

I think the part "arena" must be included in the name. It kinda refers to the genre, q3 multipiler game. Just my hunch.

So dunno, put anything in front or after this word and options pop up.

I agree. At the opposite of everyone, i don't really like "deathzone", and i think "arena" should be part of the name.
But i don't know what to think about the arena names that were given

If it's gonna be a standalone game, it is a kinda strange to give it a total new name, since it is just an "improved" version of an existing game. Therefore I suggest that it is honest to use the exisxting name with something added. It shows more respect to the people who took a lot of time and effort to create openarena itself.
